ANSWERS, WITHOUT THE DETOUR
A little clarity.
Before you save.
What this tool can do, what it cannot do, and how to recover when a download does not start.
Is this X video downloader free?
The public download tool is free to use and does not require registration or an installation. Availability can change when the source platform or service has a technical problem.
Can I download videos from private accounts?
No. The tool is for publicly accessible posts. It does not unlock protected, subscriber-only, paid, or deleted content, and it never needs your X password.
Which video quality will I get?
You can choose from the MP4 versions available from the source. The recommended option is the best available version. A higher-resolution file is not available unless the source provides it.
Why does an X GIF download as MP4?
X often delivers looping GIF uploads as MP4 video. When that is the available source format, this tool saves MP4 and labels it clearly. It does not silently claim that the file is a .gif.
What if a post has multiple videos?
The result lists the videos separately. Check each numbered preview and use its own download button. A link that points to a specific clip may select that clip when the source information supports it.
Why did the download open a video instead?
Browser settings affect whether a file downloads, prompts for a location, or opens for playback. Check your browser’s Downloads controls. iPhone users can follow the Safari saving guide below.
Does downloading give me permission to reuse a video?
No. The video still belongs to its creator or rights holder. Only download material you own, have permission to use, or have another lawful basis to save.
Why can a public post fail?
A post may have changed, contain an external video rather than an X upload, offer an unsupported format, or be temporarily unavailable to the resolver. A technical failure does not prove a post has no video.
